Kei Nishikori’s tournament schedule for 2019

Japanese superstar and former World No.4 Kei Nishikori is looking to continue his rise back up the ATP rankings in 2019 with the aim of returning to the World’s Top 5 and win his first Grand Slam title. Here we detail the tournaments that he’s expected to play in

In 2018 Kei Nishikori played a huge amount of tennis. He competed in 22 tournaments which is many more than a lot of other top 10 players. Part of the reason for playing so much was that he was returning from injury in the first part of 2018 and so he felt he needed lots of match time to get his standard back and to get his ranking back to where it should be.

Nishikori played in Newport Beach, Dallas and New York in January/February of 2018 which he definitely won’t be doing again. He’s already signed up for Rotterdam which takes place in early February of 2019. He obviously feels that his ranking and level of play is back to where he wants it so we expect a much more normal schedule of 22 tournaments in 2019 including all the Grand Slams and ATP Masters 1000 events.

Monte-Carlo (April 14 – 21)
