Rafael Nadal’s tournament schedule for 2019

Rafa Nadal has finally revealed his full schedule of tournaments for 2019 and it makes for interesting reading!

In 2019 he’s decided to reduce the number of tournaments he is scheduled to play. Could this be because he missed a lot of tennis in 2018 through injury including having to retire from both the Australian Open and US Open plus missing the huge tournaments in Paris and London at the end of the 2018?

The main change to his 2019 schedule is that he won’t play a tournament between the French Open and Wimbledon which suggests he won’t be a favourite to win another men’s singles title at the All England Club this year.

The new addition to his schedule is to play the Laver Cup exhibition event in Switzerland. Roger Federer is involved in the organisation of this growing event which may have something to do with Nadal’s attendance this year.
