Carlos Alcaraz hit new heights this season by claiming two Grand Slams and finishing the season as the world number one.
Alcaraz’s record-breaking year in 2025 saw him claim Roland Garros and the US Open and reach the final of Wimbledon.
The Spaniard won a further six titles throughout 2025, including three Masters tournaments in Monte Carlo, Rome, and Cincinnati.
He heads to the 2026 Australian Open with a chance of reaching a Career Grand Slam, but the Spaniard could be in danger of not winning any Grand Slams next year for the first time since 2021.

Could Carlos Alcaraz go winless at Grand Slams in 2026?
Alcaraz might have been dominant in 2025, but he certainly showed signs of weakness throughout the year.
The world number one picked up surprising losses to the likes of Cameron Norrie and David Goffin, and he suffered a few scares along the way, including to Fabio Fognini in the first round of Wimbledon.
The star’s fitness and injury woes are also a worry, particularly as the Spaniard has continued to play plenty of tennis in the off-season.
Matches against Frances Tiafoe and Joao Fonseca in America might keep him match fit, but they could also continue Alcaraz’s fatigue heading into a busy season.
Additionally, Jannik Sinner’s form looks absolutely dominant at present, which could overawe the Spaniard.
What is your bold prediction for the 2026 tennis season?
Alcaraz will be desperate to win the Australian Open to claim all four Grand Slams, but Sinner’s hardcourt form makes that look in doubt.
Couple that with Sinner looking to complete the Career Grand Slam himself at Roland Garros, which will be even more important to him after his gutting loss to Alcaraz in the 2025 final.
Sinner played that event with very little match practice due to his doping ban and he will be raring to go in 2026.
The Italian’s hardcourt dominance will surely make him the favourite for the US Open too, leaving only Wimbledon as Alcaraz’s best chance to win a Grand Slam in 2026.
Despite being far and away one of the top two players in the world, there’s a real possibility Sinner’s dominance could produce a barren Grand Slam spell for Alcaraz.
Carlos Alcaraz has already shared which Grand Slam is most important to him in 2026
Alcaraz’s main goal for 2026 is to complete the Career Grand Slam and he is willing to sacrifice everything else to get it.
The star revealed: “For me the goal is not to win two or three, if they come, welcome, but the real goal is to at least have one.”
When asked which one he wanted to win the most, Alcaraz replied: “Very good question… For next year? Australia.”
Should Alcaraz not complete his goal in Australia, that could also lead the Spaniard to spiral during a period he struggled in last season.
Alcaraz only won one tournament in the first three months of the season, and that was without Sinner’s appearance on the ATP Tour.
