On Monday, Iga Swiatek confirmed that her 17-month partnership with Wim Fissette had come to an end.
The pair enjoyed a successful period together, with Swiatek winning her sixth Grand Slam title at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships.
However, her form has been poor at the start of this year, with Swiatek admitting she was enduring her ‘worst nightmare’ after being stunned by Magda Linette in the Miami Open second round.
Ultimately, Swiatek has made the right decision in splitting with Fissette, and she is now looking for a new coach to take his place.

A number of high-profile coaching options are currently without a job, including Juan Carlos Ferrero and Patrick Mouratoglou.
Of all her options, could Andy Murray be the individual best-placed to take on the role?
Andy Murray said he would ‘love’ to coach Iga Swiatek in 2023
During a 2023 interview on the Control the Controllables podcast, Murray [pictured below] admitted that of any WTA player, Iga Swiatek would be the one he’d choose to coach.

The two-time Wimbledon champion also selected Carlos Alcaraz as the ATP player he would coach.
“Pretty boring answer this but I think I would say Alcaraz, because it would be great fun,” Murray began.
“I think he seems like he’s really coachable, he has all of the shots. I mean, yeah, I would love to coach him.
“On the women’s side, I’d love to coach Swiatek because… I think they’re both brilliant.
“I love watching both of them. They both seem like, you know, really nice, good people and they’re still young, still probably can still learn a lot, still bound to improve.
“I’m sorry about the answers but it would have to be those two!”

Swiatek has struggled at the start of this year, and is yet to win a WTA title.
After winning the United Cup with Poland, Swiatek made three consecutive quarter-final appearances before losing in the Miami Open second round.
Of course, one should not underestimate Swiatek. After all, the Polish star found herself in a similar situation last year before winning her first Wimbledon title.

Do you think Iga Swiatek will win a Grand Slam this season?
Swiatek enjoyed her best result to date at the 2024 Madrid Open, beating Aryna Sabalenka in the final to claim her first title.
The match was a nail-biter, with Swiatek securing the final set tiebreak 9-7, winning the match 7-5, 4-6, 7-6.
Afterwards, she told reporters: “I mean, yeah, that tiebreaker, for sure I realised it was crazy, but, like, you don’t have time to really think about it (smiling). You just go for another point.
“I really wanted to, I don’t know, not think about the past and only focus on this exact moment that I was in. So, yeah, but overall I felt, yeah, it was crazy.”

Last year, Swiatek was unable to defend her title, losing in the semi-finals to Coco Gauff.
