WATCH: Evans executes spectacular diving volley, but cannot hold off Berrettini
Matteo Berrettini served impressively to see off Dan Evans in and advance to the last four at Queen’s.
The imposing Italian overcame Evans 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 to book his place in the semi-finals of the Cinch Championships.
Evans put up a fight in the first set in particular, with this point a great example of the British no. 1’s signature perseverance.

Berrettini played exceptionally, on his serve especially, surrendering just two break point chances to the Brit in the whole match, saving both.
He also won 79% of points (38 of 48) behind his first serve, including holding serve with four straight aces at 1-1 in the second set.
With the result the Queen’s no. 1 seed is into a third semi-final of 2021, and his third career semi-final on grass.
Matteo Berrettini will next face Australian Alex de Minaur for a place in the final.
