Carlos Alcaraz displayed razor sharp reactions in the point of the tournament so far en route to the last four of the Next Gen ATP Finals.

The Spanish teen is the top seed at the Milan event and cemented that status by defeating Rune 4-3 (8-6), 4-2, 4-0 to open his campaign.

Now, Alcaraz has once again won in straight sets, this time against Brandon Nakashima.

The world number 35 overcame the American 4-3 (7-3), 4-1, 4-3 (7-4) in just under 90 minutes on-court.

“I’m really happy with the level that I’m playing,” Alcaraz said following the match. “I’m playing great matches at a great level.

Alcaraz won an incredible point late in the second, reacting brilliantly to a difficult net cord.

“Playing against a great player like [Nakashima] you play amazing points,” Alcaraz explained.

“We are looking for [those kinds of] points. To [entertain the] crowd as well. I think we did that.”

Earlier on, Rune defeated Juan Manuel Cerundolo in today’s other Group A match. As a result, Cerundolo now cannot qualify for the semi-finals.

Brandon Nakashima and Holger Rune will have a straight shootout, the winner of their match progressing to the last four.

Meanwhile, in Group B, the victor between Sebastian Korda and Sebastian Baez will join Alcaraz in the semi-finals.

In the other Group B match today, the loser between Lorenzo Musetti and Hugo Gaston will not be able to qualify for the last four.

Finally, the loser of the first match and the winner of the second will face off for the last semi-final spot.
