Between 2006 and 2017 Murray and Djokovic have played 36 times, including 10 times on the Slam stage.

2008 – Cincinnati Masters Final – Murray wins 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-5)
This was a sixth meeting between the duo but the first in a tournament final, and a Masters 1000 final no less.
Djokovic was into his sixth career Masters final and vying for a fifth tile, while Murray was playing in his first Masters final.
Murray had recently claimed a first victory over Djokovic at the Canadian Masters just prior to Cincinnati, giving the Brit confidence entering this match.
Murray triumphed through two tight tiebreak sets to claim his first of 14 Masters titles to date.
2012 – Australian Open Semi-final – Djokovic wins 6-3, 3-6, 6-7 (4-7), 6-2, 7-5
Djokovic now had another three Slam titles to his name, including form the 2011 Australian Open.
In a repeat of that year’s final, the Serb took on Murray in the an epic semi-final in Melbourne.
Djokovic came out on top after nearly five hours on-court, returning to win the final against Rafael Nadal that went for nearly six hours in Rod Laver Arena.
2012 – US Open Final – Murray wins 7-6 (12-10), 7-5, 2-6, 3-6, 6-2
Murray was into a fifth Major final but was yet to clinch a crown while Djokovic was defending his 2011 title.
What followed was not just epic match but a supremely important occasion in the career of Murray and even in the history of British sport as a whole.
Djokovic looked like he could turn around a two set deficit but Murray eventually came out on top to become the first British male singles Slam champion for 76 years since Fred Perry won the same event in 1936.
2012 – Shanghai Masters Final – Djokovic wins 5-7, 7-6 (13-11), 6-3
This was a true escape act from Djokovic as he saw off five match points from Murray, who was at the time the two-time defending champion in Shanghai.
Murray served for the match up 5-4 in the second and had four match points in the later tiebreaker, eventually winning to secure a 13th career Masters 1000 title.
2013 – Australian Open Final – Djokovic wins 6-7 (2-7), 7-6 (7-3), 6-3, 6-2
Another year another Djokovic vs Murray Australian Open meeting. This was the third time consecutively the duo played in Melbourne, and the second time they had met in the final there.
As Murray looked to claim his first two Slam titles back-to-back Djokovic was eyeing a sixth Major crown of his own and third consecutive Australian Open title. And that is exactly what Djokovic achieved, ousting the Brit in four sets.
2013 – Wimbledon Final – Murray wins 6-4, 7-5, 6-4
While the calibre of this entry could have been higher, it represented something far bigger for Murray.
The Brit had reached his first Wimbledon final the previous year, losing to Roger Federer in a heartbreaker.
By defeating Djokovic here he ended the 36-year wait for a British singles Wimbledon champion, since Virginia Wade triumphed in 1977, and the 77-year wait for a male British Wimbledon champion, when Fred Perry won in 1936.
2015 – Australian Open Final – Djokovic wins 7-6 (7-5), 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, 6-0
Murray was into his fourth Australian Open final with an 0-3 record from his previous attempts, first against Federer in 2010 then facing Djokovic in 2011 and 2013.
And he went toe-to-toe with the four-time champion Serb, splitting the first two sets with a tiebreak each. But Djokovic was just too strong in the end, finishing the win with a bagel over Murray.
2015 – Canadian Masters Final – Murray wins 6-4, 4-6, 6-3
The duo had played eight times since the 2013 Wimbledon final, and Djokovic had won all eight encounters, including three at Slams.
But Murray changed that in Montreal as he took on Djokovic for the fifth time in 2015 and finally triumphed.
2016 – Roland Garros Final – Djokovic wins 3-6, 6-1, 6-2, 6-4
Into his fourth Paris final, Djokovic was desperate for a first Roland Garros title and a shot at completing the Career Grand Slam.
He had had his best chance yet in 2015 when he faced someone other than Rafael Nadal in the final, but lost there to a Stan Wawrinka in brilliant form.
This time around the Serb pulled through, joining Federer and Nadal in the Career Grand Slam club with his 12th Major trophy.
2016 – ATP Finals Final – Murray wins 6-3, 6-4
A late tour surge from Murray in 2016 placed him on the edge of taking the world number one ranking from Djokovic.
And the Brit achieved just that in winning the Paris Masters ahead of the ATP Finals, claiming the top spot for the first time in his career.
Come the Finals in London, Murray escaped Milos Raonic in the semi-finals to meet Djokovic for the crown.
If Murray won he would hold Djokovic off for the year-end number one crown, but Djokovic could claim it back should he be victorious.
Murray managed to do the former to finish 2016 as world number one with his first ATP Finals title.
