Tim Henman impressed by Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Zverev Wimbledon final
Speaking on BBC’s coverage of the final, Henman said of the standard: “I would give it a 9 [out of 10].
“That is where Sascha Zverev deserves so much credit for the part that he played.
“He had lost nine times in a row against Jannik Sinner but came out and played in a completely different fashion.
“His first serve percentage was incredible, to keep hitting his spots and keep hitting that first serve percentage so high.”
Another former player, James Blake, was also left really impressed by the standard from both the Italian and the German.
He posted on X: “What a level of tennis displayed by Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev in the Wimbledon final.
“Tremendous tennis from both and congratulations to the players and teams.”
It was indeed a fantastic spectacle, in which Sinner came from behind to triumph 6-7(7-9), 7-6(7-2), 6-3, 6-4.

Jamie Murray praises Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev after their Wimbledon final
Yet another former player really enjoyed the high-quality tennis that was on display between the world number one and number three.
Jamie Murray, who retired from tennis earlier this year, said: “Sascha came out firing. He had an average forehand speed of 86mph which is way above his norm.
“He took it to him. It’s not easy for him to play a completely different game style to what he used to. I am happy for him he knew he had to do something different because he’s 0-9 going into this match.
“He needed something to believe in and go after and for two sets he largely did that. Sinner is just so good at maintaining that level.
“There is never really any drops. [Carlos] Alcaraz is more [up and down]. Sinner, it’s so incredible to function at that level for so long.”
Both players came flying out of the blocks, with Zverev really taking the game to the defending champion.
