‘The results weren’t clear’ – Thiem update casts doubt ahead of Wimbledon
World No. 4 Dominic Thiem was forced to withdraw from his match in Mallorca, and further news from the Austrian is far from positive.
Having retired in his match against Adrian Mannarino, the US Open champion underwent an MRI and has since released new information to the public.
“Yesterday during the match I had a problem with my wrist,” Thiem described on his Twitter.
“I went immediately to do an MRI at the hospital in Palma de Mallorca. The results weren’t that clear and I have decided to go to Barcelona to check with a specialist.”

Thiem has had rotten luck since claiming his maiden Grand Slam title last year, going on a poor run of form and suffering injury problems, with this latest news yet another unfortunate roadblock for the star.
