Romanian talent named as Emma Raducanu opponent in exhibition match
While Emma Raducanu has finished her competitive season, she will take to the court at an event in London later this month.
The US Open champion ended her 2021 season at the Linz Open in Austria,ย going out to Chinese qualifier Xinyu Wang.
However, fans can see Raducanu in action at the upcoming Champions Tennis event at the Royal Albert Hall in London, running from 25-28th November.
There, the British teenage sensation will face world number 83 Elena-Gabriela Ruse in an exhibition match scheduled for the 28th.
The pair played practice matches together at Ruse’s home tournament of the Transylvania Open in October.
The event in London is one of two exhibition matches that Raducanu will play before the 2022 season.
Her second will be at the Mubadala World Tennis Championships in Abu Dhabi. That event takes place from 16-18th December, where the 18-year-old will play Olympic gold medallist Belinda Bencic.
Raducanu recently appointed Torben Beltz as her new coach. The event in London will be Raducanu’s first under the guidance of the German, though her first competitive match during the new partnership will come in 2022.
