Medvedev takes emergency wildcard after Halle disappointment
Medvedev will not go into Wimbledon off the back of his surprise loss to Struff after accepting a wildcard to another grass warm-up event.
The world No. 2 suffered a shock straight sets defeat to the big-serving German in Halle, and has now accepted an invitation to play the inaugural Mallorca Championships.
The announcement came on the tournament’s official Twitter as they welcomed the Russian to the line-up with a promotional montage.

The new Spanish grass court tournament will run from 19 – 26 June and include names such as Dominic Thiem and Pablo Carreno Busta among its draw.
Medvedev has made three career appearances at Wimbledon so far, with his best result being the third round, achieved twice in 2018 and 2019.
After a career-best run at Roland Garros, the Russian will be looking to build on his recent form and make an impact at SW19 despite his historically mediocre results at The Championships.
