Jannik Sinner defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime in the Paris Masters final on Sunday, securing his 23rd ATP Tour title in the process.
The Italian, who has reclaimed the world number one spot from Carlos Alcaraz, defeated the Canadian 6-4, 7-6 at the Paris La Defense Arena.
Remarkably, Sinner has now won 26 consecutive indoor hard-court matches on the ATP Tour, dating back to 2023.
The Italian was completely dominant in Paris, failing to drop a single set in any of the five matches he contested.

The 24-year-old will hope to continue his excellent form heading into the ATP Finals, which begin on November 9.
Jannik Sinner thanks the Paris Masters crowd for their support
Following his triumph in Paris, Jannik Sinner has taken to social media to thank his fans in the French capital.
On X [Twitter], the Italian said: “Merci Paris. What an amazing week, unforgettable moments. Thank you for all the support!”
Sinner also posted an Instagram story, saying: “Felix Auger-Aliassime, it’s been a long way. Thank you for the fight today, you’re an incredible player and an amazing person.
“I wish you all the best for the future.”
The image in the story showed Sinner and Auger-Aliassime playing a video game when they were much younger, and a picture of them together after the 2025 Paris Masters final.
Sinner has secured his first Paris Masters title and, by doing so, has become the first Italian to win the tournament.
Meanwhile, Auger-Aliassime will travel to Metz to try and secure the final ATP Finals qualification spot.
The Canadian overtook Lorenzo Musetti in Paris, and is in pole position heading into the penultimate week of the season.
Sinner comments on being world number one
The Italian has now moved on to 11,500 ATP points – 260 ahead of Carlos Alcaraz, who was stunned in his opening Paris match by Cameron Norrie.
Earlier in the tournament, Sinner said it would be ‘impossible’ to finish the year as world number one.
However, Sinner has now given himself a fighting chance.

During Sinner’s post-match press conference, one reporter asked: “You’ll be back to World No. 1 on Monday.
“I know you said it wasn’t a goal, but maybe now that you’re back on that throne you’re thinking, ah, maybe I can keep it?”
Sinner replied: “Well, it’s not only in my hands, but I’m of course happy. I knew from the beginning of the week that there is this chance.
“But as I said, you know, before the final, before every tournament or before every match, I try to put the best performance I can on the court, and then whatever comes, comes.
“And this is how I went on court. In Turin, I’m going to do the same. I watch my side, and I just play the best possible tennis I can, and if it’s not gonna be, it’s not gonna be.
“The goal of this week was to go day by day, trying to maximize my potential, which I have done for this week, and I’m extremely happy.
“As I said, now we recharge and hopefully be as ready as possible then for Turin, and we hope for a great tennis week there.
Both players will now prepare for the ATP Finals, which are to be held in Turin, Italy, from November 9 to 16.
To have a chance at ending the year as the world number one, Sinner will need to defend his 2024 ATP Tour Finals title.
Sinner’s 2024 ATP Finals points will be removed on November 10, taking him back down to world number two. However, if he repeats in Turin, he could return to the top spot.
Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton and Alex de Minaur have also qualified for the ATP Finals. The final spot will be claimed by either Felix Auger-Aliassime or Lorenzo Musetti, who are competing in Metz and Athens respectively this week.
