Jannik Sinner has won the Paris Masters for the first time after defeating Felix Auger-Aliassime in Sunday’s final.

The Italian proved his worth yet again, defeating the spirited Canadian 6-4, 7-6 at the La Defense Arena in Paris.

As for Auger-Aliassime, the result marked the second occasion on which he has lost a Masters 1000 final, following the 2024 Madrid Open.

Consequently, Sinner has returned to world number one, usurping his great rival, Carlos Alcaraz.

The Italian will hope to hold on to the number one spot when he competes at the ATP Tour Finals next week.

Jannik Sinner has won 26 consecutive indoor hard-court matches on the ATP Tour

As per Mario Boccardi, Jannik Sinner has now won 26 consecutive indoor hard-court matches on the ATP Tour, between 2023 and 2025.

He joins Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer, who are the only other ATP players to complete the feat.

Federer won 33 consecutive matches on the surface between 2004 and 2007, while Djokovic won 35 straight between 2012 and 2015.

Sinner’s success in Paris marked his third triumph in four attempts. Since losing the US Open final to Carlos Alcaraz, the Italian has won the China Open, Vienna Open and the Paris Masters.

Sinner’s triumph on Sunday also made him the first-ever Italian winner of the Paris Masters.

Sinner’s unbeaten streak includes the 2023 Davis Cup title, 2024 titles in Rotterdam, the ATP Tour Finals, and the Davis Cup, and 2025 titles in Vienna and Paris.

Despite playing some high-level players at the Paris Masters, Jannik Sinner was not forced to a third set at any point during the tournament.

Zizou Bergs, Francisco Cerundolo, Ben Shelton, Alexander Zverev and Felix Auger-Aliassime were all unable to win a set against the Italian.

As per OptaAce, since 1990, Jannik Sinner is the fourth player to win the Paris Masters without conceding a set after Stefan Edberg, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.

Edberg achieved the feat in 1990, while Federer did so in 2011. Remarkably, Djokovic has won the title without dropping a set on two occasions: in 2014 and 2019.

As for Auger-Aliassime, he will head to the Metz Open in hopes of securing the final ATP Tour Finals spot. The Canadian overtook Lorenzo Musetti after his performance in Paris.
