Davis Cup 2022 Group Stage Preview
The 2022 Davis Cup is approaching the business end of competition as 16 teams battle it out to reach the quarter-finals at the end of November to see which country will be crowned international champions for the year.
While the US Open provided much excitement for two full-on weeks across the end of August and start of this month, tennis never seems to stop as the men’s calendar continues with international competition in the 110th edition of the storied tournament.
Tennishead has compiled what you ought to know for the fixtures coming up across the European host cities, including when which ties are played, which players will be in action and how you can follow the competition.
Dates and venues
The Davis Cup Group Stage takes place from 13-18th September across four host cities: Bologna, Italy, Valencia, Spain, Hamburg, Germany, and Glasgow, UK.
Davis Cup Groups
In Bologna, Group A consists of hosts Italy, Argentina, Croatia and Sweden, while in Valencia Group B is comprised of hosts Spain, South Korea, Serbia and Canada.
Group C in Hamburg contains Germany, France, Australia and Belgium, and finally, in Glasgow, Group D is made up of Great Britain, USA, Kazakhstan and the Netherlands.
Team rosters and format
Each nation is comprised of four or five players, and each team plays ever other team in their group in two singles rubbers and a doubles rubber. The top two teams from each group will progress to the Davis Cup Finals from 22-27th November in Malaga, Spain.

14th September: Italy vs Croatia
15th September: Croatia vs Sweden
16th September: Italy vs Argentina
17th September: Argentina vs Croatia
18th September: Italy vs Sweden
13th September: South Korea vs Canada
14th September: Spain vs Serbia
15th September: South Korea vs Serbia
16th September: Spain vs Canada
17th September: Serbia vs Canada
18th September: Spain vs South Korea
13th September: Australia vs Belgium
14th September: France vs Germany
15th September: France vs Australia
16th September: Germany vs Belgium
17th September: France vs Belgium
18th September: Germany vs Australia
13th September: Kazakhstan vs Netherlands
14th September: USA vs Great Britain
15th September: USA vs Kazakhstan
16th September: Great Britain vs Netherlands
17th September: USA vs Netherlands
18th September: Great Britain vs Kazakhstan
