Jannik Sinner won his fifth title of the year as he defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime to capture the Paris Masters.

Sinner extended his magnificent hard-court winning streak record in Paris and he did so without dropping a set at the Masters event.

The Italian has returned to the top of the rankings, albeit only briefly before the start of the ATP Finals in Turin.

Sinner has won three finals in a row now, following victories in Vienna and Beijing, and he has only tasted one defeat since losing to Carlos Alcaraz in the US Open final.

Darren Cahill sends Jannik Sinner a message

Sinner’s coach, Darren Cahill, has taken to social media to send the Italian a message following his imperious streak in the indoor hard-court circuit.

The iconic coach wrote on Instagram: “An incredible couple of weeks in Vienna and Paris. Well done, Jannik! Amazing effort. We keep building. Next stop – Turin.”

Cahill revealed that Sinner changed his game plan in Paris, but whatever their tactics, their partnership continues to flourish.

There has been speculation about Cahill’s future with Sinner, following reports that he could step down at the end of the year.

The 60-year-old has often revealed plans to take a step back from tennis, although Sinner has made it clear he wants his coach to stay with him.

Jannik Sinner is closing in on a record that Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal have not managed

Sinner continues to break new ground on the ATP Tour, and his Paris Masters win has put him within touching distance of a ridiculous record.

The Italian’s win at the Paris Masters means he only needs a win at Indian Wells in order to claim every major hard-court crown.

Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer have achieved the feat, but they did so at 30 and 31, respectively, while Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal did not manage to win every hardcourt crown.

Murray failed to win the Australian Open or Indian Wells, while Nadal didn’t win the ATP Finals, Miami, Paris.

Sinner has a chance to achieve the feat as early as next year’s Indian Wells when he would still only be 24 years old.
