Coco Gauff Wimbledon 2019

Coco Gauff will be No.1 in the world says John McEnroe

Teen tennis sensation Coco Gauff will rise to the very top of the women’s game according to men’s tennis legend and well respected commentator John McEnroe

Coco Gauff is in the middle of a career defining run at Wimbledon 2019 with her 4th round match scheduled for later today. But the future is even brighter according to 7 time Grand Slam singles champion John McEnroe. Speaking on Eurosport the outspoken analyst said, “I think she’s going to be the number one player in the world, without a doubt. I mean, I hope that it’s handled properly. It sounds so far, because you hear the parents saying the right thing.”

McEnroe then went on to question the number of tournaments that Gauff is allowed to play as per the current WTA rules. “Here’s the question – she’s better than almost everyone to me already, once she gets out there, but she’s only allowed to play 5 tournaments until March. Should they allow her to play more tournaments? Because she doesn’t turn 16 until then? But what if she’s in the top 15 in the world?”

Coco Gauff faces Simona Halep in the fourth round of the Ladies singles at Wimbledon today. The winner will face relative new comers to Grand Slam tennis in either Shuai Zhang or Dayan Yastremska.

Coc Gauff has already scored three unexpected victories in the Ladies Singles including beating past Champion Venus Williams plus she needed a wildcard just to get into the qualifying event.
