Roger Federer reigned in on another record as relentless Novak Djokovic enjoys landmark victory
Novak Djokovic says it is a ‘career goal’ of his to beat the most important records set by Roger Federer, but he drew level with him on another one in Rome.
Djokovic beat Salvatore Caruso 6-3, 6-2 at the Italian Open on Wednesday to win his first match since his US Open disqualification.
It was a significant win in more ways that just that, though, as it dew him level with Roger Federer’s 113 Masters 100 wins on clay.
‘Roger Federer is the best – I regret defeats to him the least,’ says Fabio Fognini
Another vitory and he will take second place outright on the list, although he is still some way behind Rafael Nadal’s 182.
