Wimbledon tickets up for grabs as 2023 ballot opens

The ballot for Wimbledon tickets is officially open for fans to apply to attend the 2023 Championships, which run from 3-16th July next year.

Applications will remain open until 11:59pm on Tuesday 15th November. Fans should note that there is no advantage to applying early. All applicants have the entire window available.

A nearly 100-year-old institution, the Wimbledon Public Ballot was first launched in 1924. It is described by organisers as being ‘intended to be the fairest means of obtaining tickets for The Championships.

“We believe that every applicant should have an equal chance of success,” Wimbledon states on their website.

Fans can apply through their myWimbledon account or by setting one up if they do not yet have one. Each applicant can put their name forward for a maximum of two tickets. Application to the ballot does not guarantee one Wimbledon tickets. It simply guarantees a spot in the draw.

The ballot process will begin in February 2023. Successful applicants will be notified via email. Tickets must be used by the applicant and a guest.

“Tickets must not be sold, transferred or advertised for sale or transfer whether online or elsewhere,” the website states. “Any tickets advertised for sale or transfer will be void.”
