Wimbledon seedings announced

Wimbledon seedings are calculated using a formula based on ranking and grass-court form over the previous two seasons.

Despite his impressive 43-2 record since returning from a knee injury in February, world No.5 Nadal has been seeded behind compatriot David Ferrer, in part due to his shock second-round defeat to Lukas Rosol at the All England Club last year.

World No.1 Djokovic tops the men’s seedings ahead of home favourite Murray, with defending champion Federer third.

Defending champion Serena Williams is unsurprisingly the top seed in the women’s draw, while Victoria Azarenka will avoid the world No.1 until the final after being seeded second ahead of Maria Sharapova and last year’s runner-up Agnieszka Radwanska.
