Wim Fissette has been replaced as Iga Swiatek’s head coach.

Just 10 days after Fissette’s departure, Swiatek announced Francisco Roig as her new coach.

How many Grand Slam titles will Iga Swiatek win with Francisco Roig as her coach?

She's signed one of the best coaches on tour!

There’s no rest for the Belgian either, as he now prepares for his first coaching assignment post-Swiatek

After a slow start, Fissette has guided the Belgians to five consecutive wins.

Wim Fissette’s record as Belgium coach

A strong 2025 campaign sees Belgium a win away from the Billie Jean King Cup Finals.

An event they last attended in 2022, where they lost both of their group-stage matches.

Unfortunately for Fissette and company, to reach November’s Finals event, they will need to beat the greatest team in Billie Jean King Cup history.

Belgium will play 18-time champions Team USA in Ostend, Belgium, on April 10 and 11.

But which players have Fissette and American captain Lindsay Davenport selected for the match?

Team USA

Team USA are missing their top stars: Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Amanda Anisimova, and Madison Keys, but will still travel to Europe as heavy favourites.

Belgium will need to rely on the experience of doubles number one and world number 20 Elise Mertens if they are to pull off the upset and book their spot in the 2026 Billie Jean King Cup Finals.

If not, it will be the Americans heading back to Shenzhen, China, looking to go one better than in 2025, where they lost to Italy in the final.

Will Wim Fissette return to WTA Tour coaching?

Fissette will be busy in Belgium this week and next, but the Billie Jean King Cup captaincy is, in reality, a part-time role.

For most of the year, he would be free to travel on tour, accompanying a player, just as he did with Swiatek and Naomi Osaka before her.

So, with that being said, who should he coach next?

Just as Swiatek and Fissette parted ways, another top WTA star split from her coach.

Two-time Grand Slam finalist Anisimova needs a new coach.

The American moved on from Hendrik Vleeshouwers upon the conclusion of the Miami Open.

Anisimova enjoyed a career-best year in 2025, qualifying for the Wimbledon and US Open finals, winning two WTA 1000 titles, and reaching world number three.

She is one of the most powerful and talented players in women’s tennis, with real Grand Slam-winning potential.

Could Fissette be the man to harness that potential? Kim Clijsters thinks so…

During the latest episode of her ‘Love All’ podcast, Clijsters named Fissette as an option for Anisimova.

Only time will tell if Anisimova chooses to call upon the help of Fissette, but it will certainly be something to look out for over the coming months.
