After months of poor form, Iga Swiatek has finally confirmed the news that she will no longer work with Wim Fissette.
The pair started their partnership in October 2024, and it only led to three titles for the six-time Grand Slam champion.
Swiatek has undoubtedly made the right decision after a worrying start to the season, which has seen her go trophy-less across four WTA 1000 events.
The Pole should have a new lease of life without Fissette by her side and it could mean she returns to Roland Garros with a bang.

Swiatek proved herself the best clay court player on the WTA Tour before she signed up to work with Fissette.
Fissette was brought in to try and improve the star on other surfaces, and it certainly worked in parts as she won Wimbledon and the Cincinnati Open.
It’s unclear whether Swiatek will hire a coach immediately for the clay court season, but it’s more than likely she will revert to what she knows best on her favourite surface.

The star was stunned by Aryna Sabalenka in the semi-finals of Roland Garros in 2025, which brought an end to her domination at the tournament.
She will likely be even more determined to win her fifth Roland Garros title now she is doing so without a coach.
Swiatek failed to win a single clay court trophy under Fissette, which tells you his changes were for other surfaces.
If the Pole reverts back to her natural game this clay court season, it’s hard not to see the star bouncing back with a real bang.

Swiatek’s four Roland Garros trophies are not her only success on clay, as she has collected another five WTA titles in her career.
That includes four Masters titles, at the Italian Open and the Madrid Open, as well as a WTA 500 trophy in Stuttgart.
