Jannik Sinner is taking action following his shock exit from Roland Garros.

Sinner suffered a shock defeat to Juan Manuel Cerundolo in his second round match in Paris, despite being two sets and 5-1 up on his Argentinian opponent.

This was a huge shock for Sinner, as he had been on a 30-match winning streak up to this point and was the big favourite to win the Roland Garros title.

Sinner was struggling with illness in this match, and while he has claimed it was not related to the heat, the world number one is now being proactive in searching for answers.

Jannik Sinner to undergo tests following his Roland Garros exit

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, following his defeat at Roland Garros, Sinner had dinner with his team and then the following morning flew back to Nice, before returning home to Monte Carlo.

Sinner is then suggested to have booked a room at the JHotel in Turin, which is the same location where Juventus’ medical centre is.

This is where Sinner is expected to undergo tests to discover what the root of the problem was for his illness in Paris, particularly as it is not his first time struggling with the heat at Roland Garros.

Where does Jannik Sinner’s defeat to Juan Manuel Cerundolo rank among the most shocking results in tennis history?

Following a busy recent schedule, Sinner will have some rest from the tennis court and is not expected to touch a racket for 10 days until June 8, which is the day after the Roland Garros final.

Sinner will then return to the practice courts, with three weeks to prepare for his Wimbledon title defence, as he seeks his first Grand Slam of the year.

What has been confirmed after Jannik Sinner’s loss at Roland Garros?

Sinner is not the only big name to have crashed out of the Paris major, with Novak Djokovic also out of Roland Garros following his defeat to Joao Fonseca.

This has confirmed that there will be a new men’s singles Grand Slam champion at Roland Garros this year, which will be the first time that this has happened since Sinner won the 2024 Australian Open.

Would you rather win the French Open or win all nine Masters titles?

There are also only three former major finalists remaining in the draw, with Alexander Zverev, Casper Ruud and Matteo Berrettini all still in the tournament.

Berrettini is the only former finalist in the top half of the draw, which features just one top 10 player.

This will also be the first time since the 2023 US Open where a player other than Sinner or Carlos Alcaraz has won the men’s singles title at a Grand Slam.
