Arthur Rinderknech’s dream run at the Shanghai Masters has continued into the semi-finals, and it’s earned him an elite record since June that no one other than Carlos Alcaraz can beat.
The Frenchman stunned Felix Auger-Aliassime with a straight-sets victory to confirm his place in the Shanghai Masters final four and the top 40 of the ATP Tour rankings.
Rinderknech has defeated Alexander Zverev, Jiri Lehecka, Alex Michelsen, and Hamad Medjedovic to reach the semi-finals as a qualifier.
The star’s brilliant performances against the ATP Tour’s top players have earned him an accolade only beaten by Carlos Alcaraz.

Arthur Rinderknech gets his seventh ATP top 20 win since June in Shanghai
Rinderknech has truly kicked off since the start of the grass court season in June and he has the head-to-head record with some of the best players to match it.
The Frenchman has now picked up seven wins against ATP Tour top 20 players since June, a record that can only be beaten by Alcaraz.
The Shanghai Masters semi-finalist has toppled six different top 20 players on grass and hard court since toppling Ben Shelton at Queen’s.
Davidovich Fokina was beaten by Rinderknech at the US Open, while Casper Ruud saw his Cincinnati Open tournament ended by the Frenchman.
Rinderknech has proven to be Alexander Zverev’s nemesis in 2025 by knocking him out of Wimbledon and the Shanghai Masters.
The Frenchman also ended World No. 19 Jiri Lehecka’s Shanghai Masters tournament with a straight sets victory in the fourth round.
Arthur Rinderknech opens up about his Shanghai Masters campaign
Rinderknech was ecstatic to join his cousin Valentin Vacherot in the Shanghai Masters semi-final after defeating Auger-Aliassime.
“Of course it’s great. I’m just trying one more time to follow Val, you know. Yesterday I was watching him. I was really stressed watching him,” said the star after his win.
“Today was a lot less stressful for me to be playing on court actually. I’m not used to be watching someone and really wanting him to win so bad.
“Yeah, it was a lot easier for me to be on court today, and just control my emotions and do my own thing that I know how to do, and trying to handle it the best I can. With my family here in the box also it was cool.”
Rinderknech will play the winner of Daniil Medvedev and Alex De Minaur in the final four, with the match set to be played on October 11.
