Ugo Humbert couldn’t believe how well Casper Ruud played against him in the Stockholm Open final.

Ruud’s supreme form in Stockholm continued against Humbert, who could only muster five games against his opponent.

The Norwegian picked up the first indoor title of his career at the expense of Humbert, who had no answers for Ruud at the Stockholm Open.

Humbert was magnanimous in defeat after the match and even said he experienced something new against Ruud.

Ugo Humbert was stunned by Casper Ruud’s level in Stockholm

Humbert couldn’t believe what he was seeing from the man across the court from him and couldn’t do anything to stop the new World No. 10.

“Sorry for the quick final,” said the Frenchman after being swept aside in just over an hour to Ruud in Stockholm.

The Frenchman then joked: I mean, it’s your fault Casper. You played really amazing,” before dropping a huge compliment for his opponent.

“I don’t remember facing someone playing this well at this level,” said the Frenchman. “Congratulations to your team.”

Ruud described the match as the best of his year after the final and he looks like he has every chance to crack into the top eight before the ATP Finals.

Ugo Humbert’s ATP Final record

Humbert’s excellent record in ATP Finals was dented against Ruud, but he still holds an impressive win/loss percentage.

The Frenchman has reached 10 finals since his maiden tournament at the Auckland Open in 2020, which he won.

Humbert has won seven of his 10 finals, although he is currently on a streak of one win in four after the Stockholm Open.

The World No. 25’s last ATP title win came at the Open 13 in France in February 2025 when he defeated Hamad Medjedovic.
