Wimbledon has seen two more big names withdraw ahead of this year’s tournament.

Carlos Alcaraz withdrew from Wimbledon last month, with the world number two missing a second consecutive major due to his wrist injury.

Alcaraz is not the only big name who has pulled out of the grass court major, with Lorenzo Musetti also pulling out of Wimbledon.

The withdrawals do not seem to be stopping, as two more former top 20 players have now confirmed that they will not be playing at Wimbledon this year.

Sebastian Korda and Tomas Machac have withdrawn from Wimbledon

Sebastian Korda made a very impressive start to the 2026 season, which included him winning his third ATP singles title at the Delray Beach Open.

The American continued this form into the sunshine double, with Korda beating Alcaraz at the Miami Open.

Korda would then lose his next match in Miami against Martin Landaluce, and he has not played another match since then.

It was in this match where Korda was clearly struggling with a back issue, and this injury has forced him to withdraw from Roland Garros and now Wimbledon.

This is the second consecutive year that Korda has been forced to withdraw from Wimbledon, having pulled out of last year’s tournament due to a right shin injury.

Korda will be replaced in the Wimbledon main draw by Alexandre Muller, and he has been joined by another former top 20 player on the withdrawal list.

That player is Tomas Machac, with the former world number 20 withdrawing from Wimbledon due to a left foot injury.

Machac did play at Roland Garros, where he lost in the second round to eventual champion Alexander Zverev, but he will not play any grass court matches this year.

The Czech will be replaced by Jesper De Jong, who reached the fourth round at Roland Garros as a lucky loser this year.

Tomas Machac releases statement after withdrawing from Wimbledon

Korda has not commented on his withdrawal from Wimbledon, but Machac has taken to social media to release a statement.

In his latest post on Instagram, Machac revealed that he had a tear in his left foot and was hoping to be back in time for the US Open swing.

Machac wrote, “Bad news tonight. Unfortunately, the tear in my left foot has not healed enough, and I have to withdraw from Wimbledon.

“It’s a disappointing moment, but I’m doing everything possible to return for the American swing this summer. Thank you all for your support. See you soon.”
