The 21-year-old is on the verge of breaking into the ATP Top 20 following back-to-back victories in Umag and Gstaad. Thiem, who won his maiden ATP World Tour title in Nice in May, is the top seed for the first time in his career at the Generali Open in Kitzbuhel, where he reached the final last year.

Having started the year at No.39, Thiem has climbed to No.21 following his recent succcess. After three straight defeats at Wimbledon and in the Davis Cup, the Austrian is now unbeaten in his last eight matches after defeating Joao Sousa to win the Croatia Open crown before lifting his third ATP trophy at the Swiss Open with victory over top seed David Goffin.

Thiem, who is the fourth player born in the 1990s to win three or more ATP titles (Milos Raonic 6, Grigor Dimitrov 4, Bernard Tomic 3), lost to Goffin in the Kitzbuhel final last year. He will now bid to go one better at his home event and break into the world's top 20 for the first time.
