Stan Wawrinka has not made the cut for the US Open main draw.
The Swiss legend, a winner of three Grand Slam titles, is the 118th-ranked player on the US Open Men’s Singles entry list and the 18th alternate.
This means that the 2016 US Open champion will need to win three matches to qualify for the main draw in New York.

Wawrinka is set to retire from his playing career at the end of this year, ending his 23-year journey on the Tour.
It would certainly be a crying shame if the Swiss star is not afforded the opportunity to compete in the US Open main draw for one last time.
Stan Wawrinka should be given a US Open wildcard
Last year, the US Open made a mistake with their wildcard selections.
Inexplicably, Stan Wawrinka was not included among the wildcards, despite being a former champion in New York.
With the Swiss legend set to retire at the end of this year, the US Open cannot afford to make the same mistake.
Wawrinka’s legacy in the sport – and at the US Open – must be properly honoured at what will be the final Grand Slam of his career.
This year, every other Grand Slam event has given Wawrinka a main draw wildcard – even Wimbledon, where the 41-year-old has never advanced past the quarter-finals.
Therefore, with Wawrinka being a former champion, it is imperative that he receives a wildcard for his final US Open appearance.

Stan Wawrinka’s US Open debut
Wawrinka made his first US Open appearance in 2004.
The Swiss player defeated Michel Kratochvil in the first round of qualifying, before losing to Japan’s Takao Suzuki.
Wawrinka made his main-draw debut a year later, beating wildcard Rajeev Ram in the first round, 2-6, 6-4, 7-6, 6-7, 7-5.
The youngster continued to illustrate his grit and determination, beating 2005 Roland Garros finalist Mariano Puerta, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-7, 6-1.
Wawrinka’s run came to an end in the third round with defeat to 2004 Olympic champion Nicolas Massu.
