Daniil Medvedev will want to quickly forget his most recent performance at the Monte Carlo Masters.
The seventh-seeded Russian suffered an embarrassing defeat in Monaco, losing 6-0, 6-0 to former Wimbledon finalist Matteo Berrettini.
Medvedev’s frustrations were laid bare for all to witness when midway through the second set he smashed his racket on the ground seven times within the space of one minute.

The result marks the first time Medvedev has been ‘double-bagelled’ on the ATP Tour.
Berrettini, meanwhile, has become just the fourth man in ATP history to defeat a top 10 player 6-0, 6-0.
With that being said, who are the other three top 10 players to lose a match by such a scoreline?
Jimmy Connors
Ivan Lendl entered the 1984 WCT Tournament of Champions as the third seed.
The Czech-American began the event in impressive form, beating John Sadri, Ramesh Krishnan and Steve Meister on his way to the semi-finals.
In the last four, Lendl faced off against five-time US Open champion and top seed Jimmy Connors [pictured below]

Remarkably, Lendl stunned Connors 6-0, 6-0, becoming the first player to double-bagel a top 10 player since the ATP rankings were first published in 1973.
”I was in it,” Connors said afterwards, as per the New York Times. ”I was hitting the ball well. He just didn’t miss any.”
In the final, Lendl lost 4-6, 2-6 to John McEnroe.
Gaston Gaudio
At the 2005 Masters Cup, top seed Roger Federer began his campaign by defeating Ivan Ljubicic, Guillermo Coria and David Nalbandian in the group stage.
In the semi-finals, Federer demolished 2004 French Open champion Gaston Gaudio 6-0, 6-0.

Asked if he was ’embarrassed’ or ‘injured’ after the match, Gaudio responded: “No, no excuse. I think that I was playing against a guy who is the best in history in a surface that he is so much better than me.
“There’s not much to say. I think the match was easier that I was expecting. Sometimes, once in a life it happens, and it happens to me today.
“Of course, I’m sad about it, I’m so disappointed. But what can I do? It happens in life. There are things a little bit worse than this sometimes in life. I don’t do anything else.”
Federer, meanwhile, acknowledged that it was the first 6-0, 6-0 victory of his life.
What would have happened if Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner played at the same time as Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal?
He said: “Yeah, it is true. I’ve won a few matches 6-1, 6-1, or 0-1, and in Davis Cup I’ve had 6-0, 6-0, 6-2 I think it was against England.
“But 0-0, without losing a game, this never happened. Yeah, I think it’s just nice to have, but no more than that.”
Federer went on to lose a five-set thriller to David Nalbandian in the final: 6–7, 6–7, 6–2, 6–1, 7–6.
Tomas Berdych
David Goffin became the fourth man to defeat an ATP top 10 player 6-0, 6-0 at the 2016 Rome Masters.
Goffin, seeded 12th, began the event by beating Leonardo Mayer and Jack Sock.
He then stunned Tomas Berdych – the eighth seed – 6-0, 6-0.

Goffin won 50 of the 65 points during the match, closing out the contest in only 50 minutes.
Goffin went on to lose in the quarter-finals to Andy Murray, 1-6, 5-7.
The Belgian, a winner of six ATP Tour titles, recently announced that the 2026 season will be his last.
In a video posted on Instagram, Goffin said: “Some decisions stay with you for a long time. I’ve given everything for this sport, and tennis has given me more than I could ever have imagined.
“The matches, the battles, the wins, the losses. The emotions. The people who were there through all of it. And that’s why this has been one of the hardest decisions of my life.”
