The Roger Federer record that Novak Djokovic could break at Indian Wells this year

Novak Djokovic is preparing for his 17th appearance at Indian Wells as he looks to win his sixth Masters title in California.

Djokovic has been handed a difficult Indian Wells draw, but he is still many pundits’ dark horse to lift the trophy.

The Serbian has started the season strongly by reaching the final of the Australian Open, where he lost to Carlos Alcaraz.

Should Djokovic win Indian Wells this year, he will take away a tournament record held by Roger Federer.

Novak Djokovic could become a record-holder at Indian Wells

Federer has a legendary record at Indian Wells, where he still holds an incredible eight records despite his 2022 retirement.

The Swiss star holds the record for most finals, most matches played and won, and most editions appeared in.

Ahead of the 2026 event, Federer shares three records with Djokovic, one of which he could break at this year’s tournament.

Federer and Djokovic are currently locked at the top for most titles at Indian Wells, with the pair currently at five wins.
