Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner will meet in their sixth final of the year at the ATP Finals in Turin.

Both men have been in sparkling form at the year-end tournament, with neither man having yet dropped a set at the ATP Finals.

Sinner and Alcaraz have ousted the competition at the ATP Finals, beating Felix Auger-Aliassime and Alex de Minaur to reach the final.

Both men have been practicing with a retired former top 30 player ahead of their much-anticipated clash at the tournament.

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner train with Joao Sousa ahead of the ATP Finals

Joao Sousa practiced with Alcaraz and Sinner ahead of their semi-final matches against de Minaur and Auger-Aliassime and he will do the same ahead of the final.

The 36-year-old retired from the sport in 2023, but he remains on the ATP Tour as the communication director for players.

The former professional reached a career-high of world number 28 and he impressed as a doubles player alongside Leonardo Mayer.

The pair reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open in 2019, losing to Henri Kontinen and John Peers in straight sets.

Sousa never played Alcaraz on the ATP Tour, but he did meet Sinner on two occasions and even picked up a victory against him.

Sousa knocked Sinner out of the first qualifying stage of the Halle Open in 2019 after a three-set battle on the grass.

Sinner got his revenge by defeating the Portuguese player in the first round of the Australian Open in 2022.

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner will end four year wait at the ATP Finals

The rivalry between Alcaraz and Sinner has been a hallmark of the ATP Tour, with the pair meeting nine times in the past two years.

However, their meeting at the ATP Finals will mark just the second time they have ever met on an indoor hardcourt.

Their previous meeting dates back to 2021, when the two men played out a narrow contest at the Paris Masters.

Alcaraz won the match in straight sets, with just one break of serve enough to earn the Spaniard the victory.

Their first indoor hardcourt meeting in over four years will likely be just as closely fought at the ATP Finals.
