Carlos Alcaraz is into the grand finale of the ATP Finals, and has thus set up yet another clash with Jannik Sinner.
It only feels right that these two should meet once again after the year they have both had, winning two Grand Slam titles apiece and competing in the final of the last three on the run.
They are, by an incredible distance, the two best players in the world.
Now they will compete for yet another elite honour.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Carlos Alcaraz seems well aware of his chances, and has revealed his thoughts on them whilst previewing the hotly anticipated renewal of this elite rivalry.
Carlos Alcaraz previews the final of the ATP Finals vs Jannik Sinner
Chatting with Tennis Channel, the Spaniard began by explaining how he felt during his match against Felix Auger-Aliassime.
After all, it was a supreme performance, brushing aside one of the most in-form players on the ATP Tour with ease.
Alcaraz admitted: “I think it’s the way that I felt the ball on the racket, it was really electric so I could move really fast, I could move really well just to raise the ball in a really good position every time.
“So I think that helps me a lot to give myself a lot of confidence during the match. As you say, I think probably is it is the best match on indoor court that I have ever played against, you know, someone like Felix that is a really difficult player to play against on indoor court with a big serve, so I’m just really, really proud, I’m really happy to play this level in the finals.”
Then, unsurprisingly turning his attention to Jannik Sinner, he continued: “Yeah, I hope so. I think this beautiful year that we both had deserves, I don’t know, the final, you know, at the end of the year.
“The last one, I mean, we both played another final here in front of his crowd once again. So it’s going to be, I think, I was going to say beautiful, but I think it’s not gonna be beautiful for me with the crowd, but I will try to enjoy it as much as I can.

“But I think it’s one of the most difficult challenges that we have in the sport right now, facing Jannik, you know, with his home crowd, on indoor courts, so I think I’m ready for that to play beautiful tennis for the crowd, to entertain the people as well. So another final against him, let’s see.”
It has been a week of breaking records again for the 22-year-old, with Alcaraz joining Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal on an elite list as the youngest to achieve yet another huge honour at the ATP Finals.
Carlos Alcaraz says Jannik Sinner is the favourite for the ATP Finals title
This is not the only time that Alcaraz has spoken about Sinner in the last 24 hours, unsurprisingly.
After all, whilst some might argue that seeing the same match over and over again could get boring, there’s no denying that the tennis world comes to a standstill when they meet on court.
They are two physical and technical specimens who have raised their level to a place where nobody else can even touch them.
And yet, they still remain hugely amicable despite this rivalry, with Alcaraz even admitting: “I mean, I’m the number one … and he’s playing the best on indoor court. We’re playing in front of his home crowd, so I would say he’s the favourite.
“Don’t want to believe it, but I would say he’s the favourite for tomorrow.”
