Cameron Norrie and world number one Carlos Alcaraz will meet each other for the eighth time on the ATP Tour when they contest their second-round match at the Paris Masters.
Norrie won his first-round contest against Sebastian Baez, a player who has struggled on the ATP Tour throughout much of 2025.
Alcaraz is in Paris hoping to win his first Paris Masters title and secure the year-end world number one spot, while Norrie will hope to add to his one Masters 1000 title – which he won at the 2021 Indian Wells Open.
In their last matchup, at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, Alcaraz defeated Norrie 6-2, 6-3, 6-3 in the quarter-finals.

However, Alcaraz has not been able to best the Brit on every occasion they have met.
Norrie has recorded two victories against the Spaniard: at the 2022 Cincinnati Open and the 2023 Rio de Janeiro Open.
Cameron Norrie’s reaction after recording his ‘best win’ against Carlos Alcaraz
In the 2022 Cincinnati Open quarter-finals, Cameron Norrie battled through a tough contest against Carlos Alcaraz, eventually sealing the tie by a scoreline of 7-6, 6-7, 6-4.
The result snapped a three-match losing streak against the Spaniard, dating back to the 2021 US Open.
Following the match, Norrie spoke to ATP Media about his maiden victory against Alcaraz.
As relayed by The Standard, Norrie said: “I think the only place I had him better was the legs and the physicality so I was just trying to make every rally as physical as I could and make it tough for him to finish points and I managed to do that in the last game serving 30-0 and I toughed a couple balls out there and managed to turn it around.

“But it was just a really good battle and exactly the match I wanted just before the US Open, and definitely going to test the legs, test the fitness heading towards Flushing Meadows next week.
He continued: “It’s tough, you know, because he [Alcaraz] can take the racket completely out of your hand, and when he’s dictating with the forehand, it’s really tough and you’re running a lot.
“I just had to try and put the ball in awkward positions on the court. I managed to serve really well, I improved a lot from my previous matches.
“It’s funny how tennis works. I started the tournament so tight, playing terribly, and I won a couple of tough matches, and I found some confidence yesterday, and then find myself in the semi-finals. Feeling really, really good about my game and hitting the ball really well.
When discussing his next opponent, Norrie said: “He’s a great competitor and he’s really got some good level and I’ve watched him quite a lot this week.
“He beat Rafa obviously, the other day. He’s playing some of his top level and I think he’s won his matches very comfortably. He’s going to be feeling pretty fresh and ready to go.
“But I’m really not thinking about that just yet. I want to enjoy that. I think maybe it’s my best win. I mean obviously, where Carlos is in his career and what he’s doing this year is just incredible, and to get a win over him feels really good and nice to get him once.
“Feel like I need to get him when he’s young, he’s going to keep raising his level. So nice to get one in there.”
How far did Cameron Norrie go at the 2022 Cincinnati Open?
Unfortunately for British tennis fans, Cameron Norrie’s run at the 2022 Cincinnati Open ended in the semi-finals.
The Brit was defeated by Borna Coric, who became the lowest-ranked player [world number 152] to win a Masters 1000 title when he defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final.

This record was recently bested by Valentin Vacherot, who won the 2025 Shanghai Masters while ranked 204th in the world.
As for Alcaraz and Norrie’s rivalry, the Spaniard leads their head-to-head matchup by five wins to two.
Norrie’s last win against the Spaniard came in the 2023 Rio de Janeiro final.
