Carlos Alcaraz has proven himself to be a true student of the game, and the star revealed the advice Andre Agassi gave him back in 2024.
Agassi congratulated Alcaraz on his US Open victory and he’s kept a close eye on the Spaniard’s career since his emergence in 2018.
Alcaraz still has success on his mind for the remainder of 2025 as the new World No. 1 looks to build on an already excellent season.
The Spaniard is always looking to grow, and he reached out to Agassi for advice back in 2024 after a match with Rafael Nadal.

Andre Agassi offered Carlos Alcaraz advice in 2024
Alcaraz met Agassi during his exhibition match with Nadal, while the eight-time Grand Slam winner was providing commentary for Netflix.
Weeks later, at Indian Wells in 2024, the Spaniard revealed what he asked the legendary American tennis star.
“I asked him for a few tips, a few things about how he was doing during his career, how he dealt with the pressure, or how he stayed at the high rank, or the high intensity during almost his whole career.”
Agassi responded with advice befitting a star who reached World No. 1 and won 60 titles throughout his career.
“He told me that: ‘You have to give your 100% every day, or if you feel at your 80%, you have to give your 100% of that 80%’,” revealed Alcaraz. “He told me the importance of every day. You cannot miss nothing in a day.”
Since Agassi offered up that advice, the World No. 1 has captured two Wimbledon titles and another US Open crown.
Carlos Alcaraz also listened keenly to advice from Roger Federer
More recently, Alcaraz revealed some words of wisdom he received from Roger Federer, after confirming his place in the US Open final.
During his press conference following his victory over Novak Djokovic in the semi-final, Alcaraz said that Federer told him, “You don’t have to think about 35, 38 years old, still playing at that age.
“He told me, ‘You have to be focused on the next five years’, from here to when I am 27. And then, when I get 27, then think about five years more.
“It’s not about thinking in 15 or 20 years. It’s just about going year by year or just thinking about just five years maximum. We will see. We will see until what age I will try to take care of my body as good as I can.”
Federer and Alcaraz never got the chance to play each other on the ATP Tour, but his words have clearly stuck with the Spaniard.
