Carlos Alcaraz has had a 2025 to remember, but there’s still plenty for the Spaniard to achieve before the end of the year.
Alcaraz’s 2025 US Open win capped off an exceptional run at this year’s Grand Slams, which also saw him win Roland Garros and reach the Wimbledon final.
Alcaraz shocked himself at the US Open as he delivered one of his best-ever performances to topple Jannik Sinner in four sets.
The Spaniard matched his 2024 record by winning two Grand Slams in a season, but there’s still several things Alcaraz can achieve to top his previous years in tennis.

Carlos Alcaraz is on track for record amount of wins in a year
The new World No. 1 has a record of 61 wins and six losses in 2025, which puts his best ever year-end tally in sight.
Alcaraz’s highest number of wins in a calendar year is 65 from 2023, a year which saw him win his debut Wimbledon crown.
That means the Spaniard is just five wins away from breaking his all-time win record, with plenty of tournaments left to play before the year is out.
Alcaraz could also break his highest number of ATP Tour games played in a year, which is also from 2023 when he played 77 times across the year.
The 22-year-old is currently on 67 matches, meaning he needs just 11 more to smash yet another record.
There’s also plenty to play for in the remaining big tournaments of the year, as Alcaraz has a bizarrely poor record in Shanghai, Paris, and the ATP Tour Finals.
Carlos Alcaraz is yet to win three huge tournaments in his career
Alcaraz’s appearance at the 2025 Laver Cup begins a busy period for the 2025 US Open and Roland Garros champion.
Three big tournaments are remaining before the tennis season finishes at the end of November and Alcaraz could be in line for three best ever finishes.
The Spaniard has rarely shone after the US Open, with out of character performances at the Shanghai Masters, the Paris Masters, and the ATP Tour Finals.
| Tournament | 2021 | 2022 | 2023 | 2024 |
| Shanghai Masters | Didn’t play | Didn’t play | 4th Round | Quarter-final |
| Paris Masters | 3rd Round | Quarter-final | 2nd Round | 3rd Round |
| ATP Tour Finals | Didn’t qualify | Injured | Semi-final | Round-robin |
Alcaraz has only ever reached as far as the quarter-finals in Shanghai and Paris, in 2024 and 2022, respectively.
Similarly, the Spaniard has only ever qualified out of the group stage at the ATP Tour Finals on one occasion, when he reached the semi-finals in 2023.
The six-time Grand Slam champion will hope for more successful performances at all three events in 2025.
