Grigor Dimitrov is set to team with Nicolas Mahut in the Frenchman’s final doubles tournament at the Paris Masters.

The Bulgarian and Mahut have never teamed together before, but they’ve been firm friends on the ATP Tour and they’re set for the Frenchman’s swansong at his home tournament.

Dimitrov has been missing since Wimbledon, when he heartbreakingly had to withdraw from the tournament after being two sets up against eventual winner Jannik Sinner.

The World No. 43 has previous experience playing doubles at the Paris Masters, where he enlisted the help of another iconic player.

Grigor Dimitrov’s former doubles partner at the Paris Masters

Dimitrov has not played doubles at the Paris Masters since an appearance at the tournament seven years ago.

The veteran Bulgarian teamed with another tennis legend Fabio Fognini as the two big names entered the doubles.

The pair did not get past the first round as they lost in straight sets to veteran team Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecău.

Their first round opponents ended up getting to the final of the tournament, but they lost to Marcel Granollers and Rajeev Ram.

Dimitrov will be hoping for a better result when he appears in his doubles partner’s final-ever tournament in Paris.

Who is Grigor Dimitrov playing in the Paris Masters singles?

Dimitrov’s appearance at the Paris Masters is not just in the doubles as he will also return to the singles for the first time in three months.

The Bulgarian has been given an exceptionally tricky tie against home favourite Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard.

The two men are yet to meet on the ATP Tour, but the Frenchman’s big serve will surely be tricky for the veteran.

Dimitrov has been drawn in the same side of the draw as Lorenzo Musetti, Daniil Medvedev, and Alexander Zverev.
