British tennis is in an exceptionally strong place in 2025, with the likes of Jack Draper, Cameron Norrie, and Emma Raducanu all occupying places in the top 50.

It’s not just the top stars who are impressing in the sport, however, as several British rising tennis stars are shining on the circuit.

Plenty of rising Brits are kickstarting their careers with a stint in American collegiate tennis and with great success.

Both Norrie and Fearnley shared a similar route at Texas Christian University and now another Briton has signed up to the college.

Oliver Bonding signs up to Texas Christian University

18-year-old Oliver Bonding has been impressive on the junior circuit and now he’s taking his next step in the sport.

On Instagram, Texas Christian University announced that Bonding would be joining their illustrious tennis system.

They wrote: “Oliver Bonding, the former world junior No. 8 and 2025 Wimbledon boys doubles vice champion, is a TCU Horned Frog!”

Bonding made headlines earlier this year by reaching the final of the Wimbledon junior doubles alongside American Jagger Leach.

The rising British star also won the M15 Lannion in February and played Bernard Tomic in the M25 Nottingham.

What Cameron Norrie said about his time at Texas Christian University

Norrie has been very vocal about his praise for his college days and how it helped prepare him for the hectic schedule of the ATP Tour.

Speaking to The Independent in 2017, Norrie revealed: “I was just burnt out from tennis a bit after the juniors and I felt like I wanted to do something else.

“College helped me learn to love the game again. I was lucky to have two great coaches – David Roditi and Devin Bowen – to guide me in the right direction. They got me on track.”

Norrie played university tennis between 2014 and 2017 and impressed most in his final year as a student. He was the only player to win all of his matches in the 2016/17 season with a 10–0 record in singles and doubles.

He made his major debut the same year as he left university and subsequently climbed the rankings to a record-high of world number eight.
