Tennis on TV Next Week: How to watch ATP Dubai, Acapulco & more!


The anticipation for the 2024 sunshine double is rising, but before that there are five main tour events across both tours this week with ATP Dubai, WTA San Diego and ATP Acapulco all at 500 level.

And we, at Tennishead, have all the information on how you can watch the likes of Daniil Medvedev, Jessica Pegula and Andy Murray next week:

How can you watch ATP Dubai?

The WTA Tour has lit up the Dubai Tennis Championships this week and now it is the turn of the ATP Tour, with the returning Daniil Medvedev as top seed.

Medvedev has not competed since losing the Australian Open final to Jannik Sinner, but is returning to action as defending champion in Dubai.

There are two other former champions in the draw in the forms of Andrey Rublev (2022) and Andy Murray (2017).

How can you watch WTA San Diego?

The biggest WTA event of the week takes place in San Diego, having been repositioned in the calendar from September last year.

World No.5 Jessica Pegula is the top seed, as the American plays in her first tournament since losing in the second round of the Australian Open and splitting with long-term coach David Witt.

San Diego has seen some legendary champions over the years including Venus Williams, Steffi Graf and Justine Henin, but there are no former winners in the field this year.

Donna Vekic is the player in the singles draw with the most previous success at the tournament, having lost to Iga Swiatek in the 2022 final.

The tournament also sees former No.1 Caroline Wozniacki continue her comeback, after receiving a wildcard alongside American Katherine Hui and Australian Taylah Preston.

How can you watch ATP Acapulco?

The other ATP 500 event taking place is in the party atmosphere of Acapulco, in the 31st edition of the men’s tournament.

Top seeds are 2021 winner Alexander Zverev and Holger Rune, with defending champion Alex de Minaur returning as the third seed.

There are also numerous former runner-ups in the field including Stefanos Tsitsipas, Taylor Fritz, Cameron Norrie and Tommy Paul, with the latter taking on young Brit Jack Draper in an intriguing first round battle.

How can you watch WTA Austin?

The other main tour WTA event taking place this week is a newer one on the circuit, in only the second edition of the ATX Open.

Last year saw Marta Kostyuk claim her maiden WTA title, with the Ukrainian beating Varvara Gracheva in the first Texan final.

However, Kostyuk has elected not to defend her title this week and compete in San Diego instead, but Anhelina Kalinina is flying the flag for Ukraine as the top seed in Austin.

Other top seeds are Sloane Stephens and Danielle Collins, with 2023 semi-finalist Katie Volynets, Fernandes Contrera Gomez and Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva receiving wildcards.

How can you watch ATP Santiago?

The final installment of the South American clay court swing will take place in the form of the ATP 250 event in Santiago, Chile, next week.

Last year saw Nicolas Jarry claim victory at his home tournament for the first time, and the Chilean is returning as the top seed in 2024.

Chile are already guaranteed a quarter-finalist, with the draw ensuring that Alejandro Tabilo awaits the winner of 2021 champion Cristian Garin and Tomas Barrios Vera in the second.

Other former Santiago winners in the draw include Pedro Martinez (2022) and Thiago Seyboth Wild (2020).

A wildcard has been awarded to 17-year-old Joao Fonseca, after he impressed at his home tournament in Rio this week, with Cordoba champion Luciano Darderi and his Italian compatriot Francesco Passaro receiving the other wildcards.
