‘Stefanos Tsitsipas can win every tournament that he plays,’ says Rafael Nadal after Barcelona epic
Rafael Nadal has tipped Stefanos Tsitsipas to keep on improving even further after their brilliant Barcelona final.
Tsitsipas narrowly lost out to Nadal, being pipped to the title in a decided set after over three-and-a-half hours of thoroughly absorbing tennis on Sunday.
The Greek star came into the match in form after winning his first Masters-level title in Monte-Carlo last week, and he looked like he was going to immediately back that up with a first ATP 500 title too.
In the end, though, Nadal was just too strong, but he is certainly expecting big things to come from Stefanos Tsitsipas.
“He is a player that plays with a lot of passion,” Nadal said of the 22-year-old. “He is young. He feels the sport.
“He has the talent and the motivation to be better and better, so it is normal that he is improving in all aspects of his game.
“He is one of the candidates to win every single tournament that he is playing.”
