Stan Wawrinka withdraws from Dubai and Miami due to fatigue
Three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka has become the latest ATP star to pull out of next week’s Dubai Tennis Championships.
Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Matteo Berrettini, Gael Monfils and Nick Kyrgios all withdrew from the ATP 500 event prior to the draw.
Wawrinka attended the draw ceremony, but the tournament confirmed shortly after that he had withdrawn due to fatigue.

The world No. 20 has also withdrawn from the following week’s Miami Open, but should return at the ATP 250 event in Marbella in April.
The 35-year-old Swiss has endured a frustrating start to 2021 – holding a 3-3 record so far this season.
Wawrinka started by reaching the quarter-finals of the Murray River Open in Melbourne in February – before withdrawing from his match against Jeremy Chardy.
He then lost to Marton Fucsovics in the second round of the Australian Open in five sets – having had three match points.
Wawrinka has since lost in the opening round in Rotterdam and Doha – to Karen Khachanov and Lloyd Harris respectively.
