Social Slice: Murray coaches Sinner; updates from Queens and Halle

On today’s Social Slice, we look at the latest from Queens, including some coaching from Andy Murray after a practice session with Jannik Sinner.

Andy Murray returns to grass court action today at Queens against Benoit Paire, though this didn’t stop the Brit from taking time to give advice to Sinner.

The 19-year-old has made an impressive start to his career, though hasn’t had much match time on grass due to the pandemic.

Watch what Murray said to the young Italian.

Whilst Queens is going on this week, there are also a lot of big names in the draw in Halle, including Roger Federer and Roberto Bautista Agut.

However, the Spaniard was ousted in straight-sets by the American Sebastian Korda, who was playing his first professional event on the grass.

Korda didn’t lack for confidence however, just look at this shot.

Back to Queens now and Jack Draper got off to a flyer with a straight-sets victory over Sinner.

The Brit was a huge underdog in the match and trailed early on before rallying back to take his spot in the second round.

As quoted by @the_LTA, Draper’s first ATP tour win being at Queens could be a good omen for him.

Whilst Draper earned his first ever win at Queens, Feliciano Lopez now has 60 victories at the grass court event.

The two-time champion said: “Every time I play here I feel so special.”

If the Spaniard can replicate his Queens form each year at Wimbledon, he’ll be a tough player to beat.

Lastly, Barbora Krejcikova finally had her hands on both trophies simultaneously for the Paris photo shoot.

The Czech star, who downed Anastasia Pavlyunchenkova to win her first singles Grand Slam title, also continued her success alongside Katerina Siniakova in the doubles.

What an amazing few weeks for the 25-year-old.
