Coco Gauff won her maiden WTA Finals in 2024, but the only player to beat her at the event has suffered a considerable drop down the rankings.
The WTA Finals kicks off on November 1 as Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Amanda Anisimova, Jessica Pegula, Madison Keys, Jasmine Paolini, and Elena Rybakina compete for the illustrious trophy.
The Saudi Arabia tournament looks as competitive as ever, with Gauff looking to hold onto the title she won in 2024.
The American was in blistering form in 2024, but she did suffer one defeat to a star who has since dropped down the rankings.

The WTA Finals 2024 star who has dropped outside the top 50
The 2024 WTA Finals had two changes from the 2025 edition, with Keys and Anisimova joining the roster for this year’s event.
Last year, those places were filled by Barbora Krejčíková and Zheng Qinwen, who have since suffered with injury.
Krejčíková had a tournament to remember in 2024 after qualifying for the tournament as the last remaining seed.
The Czech star won two of her group stage matches to qualify for the semi-finals, including a win over eventual champion Gauff.
Krejčíková lost her semi-final match to Zheng in straight sets, who would lose to the American in the final.
What has happened to Barbora Krejčíková since the WTA Finals?
Krejčíková was struck by injury at the start of 2025 and had to miss the first five months of the WTA Tour season.
She returned for the clay court season and she picked up her first win of the season at Roland Garros, when she beat Tatjana Maria.
The former World No. 2 continued her rise up the rankings throughout 2025, but she’s still lingering outside the WTA Tour top 50.
Krejčíková currently sits at World No. 64 in the live rankings after bringing her season to an end at the China Open.
