Amanda Anisimova suffered a disappointing third round defeat to Diane Parry.
Anisimova had struggled with a wrist injury prior to Roland Garros this year, which had kept her out of competition since the Miami Open.
Despite this, Anisimova, who is now working with Sebastian Sachs, won both of her first two matches without dropping a set.
Anisimova was also the favourite to win her third round match against world number 92 Parry, but she was unable to capitalise on the opportunity, with Sam Querrey now highlighting the mistake he thinks she made in this match.

Sam Querrey claims Amanda Anisimova had ‘bad’ body language against Diane Parry
Anisimova may have been the much higher ranked player as the world number six, but most of the crowd were with her French opponent.
Both Caroline Wozniacki and Querrey believe this got to Anisimova, as they criticised her body language in the latter stages of the match that she lost 6-3, 4-6, 7-6(3).
“That to me was a big shock, because I thought that Parry was a perfect matchup for her,” Wozniacki said about Anisimova on the Nothing Major Podcast. “You know, Parry has that slice and dice on the backhand, she struggles when someone can really hit through over there.
“But she has a good first serve to the backhand out wide as well, Parry can get to the net, she can mix up the pace in the forehand, but I just felt like Anisimova kind of unsure, not knowing how her body was, but she played well in the first two rounds as well and she was kind of cruising. I just think the crowd got to her today, she got a little agitated out there.”
Querrey responded, “Yeah, her body language was bad from the start of the third set tie-breaker.”
Wozniacki then added, “It was. And she made some bad mistakes in the tie-breaker, she threw in some double faults and she hit some loose forehands and the match kind of got away from her. That was one match that I if I had to put money on it, I would have said Anisimova in two sets.”
Anisimova reached her first Grand Slam semifinal at Roland Garros in 2019 as a 17-year-old, but she has not been past the fourth round in her six appearances since then.

How many ranking points does Amanda Anisimova have to defend this year?
Anisimova will drop 110 points following her third round Roland Garros exit, but she will actually rise in the rankings after defending Coco Gauff lost to Anastasia Potapova in the same round.
However, Anisimova will now be under pressure to defend a significant amount of ranking points in the coming weeks and months, having reached the finals of both Wimbledon and the US Open last year.
The 24-year-old has a total of 4,588 ranking points to defend until the end of the season, which is even more than Aryna Sabalenka has to defend after Roland Garros.
| Tournament | Points Anisimova is defending after Roland Garros |
| Queen’s Club Championships | 325 (Final) |
| Berlin Tennis Open | 108 (Quarterfinal) |
| Wimbledon | 1300 (Final) |
| Canadian Open | 120 (R16) |
| Cincinnati Open | 35 (R32) |
| US Open | 1300 (Final) |
| China Open | 1000 (Won the title) |
| WTA Finals | 400 (Semifinals) |
| Total | 4588 |
Anisimova also has to defend 400 points at the WTA Finals, but she is currently not on track to return to the year-end tournament.
After a difficult start to the 2026 season, Anisimova is currently 15th in the live race to the WTA Finals, which is outside the top eight spots required to gain entry into the prestigious event.
Anisimova will look to return to form at the Queen’s Club Championships, where she reached the final last year, with the 2026 tournament beginning on Monday, June 8.
