Virginie Razzano, the world No.58, has shocked the tennis world to reach the WTA Premier event final.

The 25 year-old who will break into the top 50 of the Sony Ericsson WTA rankings next week reached the fifth final of her career on Friday after thrashing world No.24 Kaia Kanepi 6-1, 6-2 in 64 minutes.

Razzano will next meet either world No.1 Serena Williams or her sister Venus.

Razzanos fine run has seen her lose only one set and oust two top fivers along the way to the final. In the second round she overcame world No.2 Russian Dinara Safina 6-4, 6-2 and then saw off another Russian in the quarter finals dispatching fifth seed Vera Zvonareva 7-6, 7-5.
