Racket Review: Volkl Organix 10 325g

Originally published on 18/04/14

This racket plays the way it looks – mean. Having opened up the string pattern from 18×20 in previous incarnations of the traditional players’ racket in their range, Volkl has transformed a control-oriented all-court frame into a trigger-happy beast loaded with power.

Each of our testers flagged up how markedly head-heavy the racket felt in motion, almost as if the top half of the loop was weighted.

It took a little while to dial in groundstrokes, but when they did they found a very stable frame – ideal for players who whip through the ball out in front and flatten their drives when on the attack.

Voted best value: The Mantis 310 is a bargain, but the Volkl pips it for offering that little bit more menace from the baseline. A well-priced racket that won't break the bank.
