The third seed, who also reached the showpiece at Newport two weeks ago, eased past his Canadian opponent 6-4 6-4 in 73 minutes.

“I am very excited to reach the final at Indianapolis,” Querrey said.

“I lost in the semis two times, so I was really hoping I could win today.”

Querrey will now take on American compatriot Robby Ginepri, who overcame John Isner 6-4 6-3.

Ginepri is no stranger to success at Indianapolis, where he won the title in 2005.
