Novak Djokovic reveals plans to play three further events in 2021

World number one Novak Djokovic will play in three further events in 2021 after recently withdrawing from the Indian Wells Masters.

The Serbian has had a hugely impressive 2021 with three Grand Slams to his name, though was denied the elusive Calendar Slam by Daniil Medvedev at the US Open.

Following the final match at Flushing Meadows where the Serbian fell in straight sets, Djokovic’s return in 2021 was thrown into doubt after deciding not to play in the Californian desert.

“I am sorry I won’t get to see my fans in Indian Wells and play in the desert, my favourite place to go. I hope to see you next year!” said the 20-time Grand Slam champion.

Despite his withdrawal, according to multiple sources Djokovic has now revealed his plans for the rest of the 2021 calendar and will play a further three tournaments.

Firstly, the world number one will compete at the Paris Masters from November 1 – November 7, an event he has won on five previous occasions and most recently in 2019.

From there, Djokovic will then join the best eight performing players in 2021 at the prestigious ATP Finals in Turin in search for a sixth crown.

Lastly, the Serbian will represent his country alongside the likes of Filip Krajinovic in the Davis Cup at the end of November.

Although his 2021 schedule has been revealed, Djokovic’s appearance at the Australian Open in 2022 has been through into major doubt after officials stressed the importance of being vaccinated.
