Novak Djokovic has given an indication as to whether he will be playing at Wimbledon next year.
Djokovic was beaten by Jannik Sinner 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 in the semi-finals of Wimbledon, continuing his wait for an elusive 25th Grand Slam title.
This is the second consecutive year that Djokovic has been beaten by Sinner in the Wimbledon semi-finals, with the 39-year-old’s future in doubt.
After exiting Wimbledon in the semi-finals, Djokovic has confirmed if he plans to come back to SW19 in 2027.

Novak Djokovic says he would like to play Wimbledon in 2027
Djokovic has played a very limited schedule so far in 2026, with Wimbledon being just his fifth tournament of the season.
Next time Wimbledon comes around, Djokovic will be 40 years of age, but he has confirmed that he still plans to compete at the grass court major when asked in his post-match press conference.
“I would like to, at least one more time. Let’s see,” answered Djokovic.
Djokovic was also asked about the match itself, to which he admitted that he was not sharp enough against Sinner.
“I mean, I was just half a step late basically in any shot, so… It’s very simple as that,” said Djokovic. “He was just a level or more better than I was. I was just, you know, yeah, not sharp enough, not reactive enough, not balanced enough to play him. That’s it. There’s not much I could do on the court.”
Who will win the Wimbledon final? Jannik Sinner or Alexander Zverev
The top two seeds collide!
Djokovic was then asked to compare his defeat to Sinner at Wimbledon this year to 2025, as well as to his victory over the world number one at the Australian Open in January.
“Well, last year I was injured during that match,” explained Djokovic. “Actually, I got injured in quarters. I didn’t really expect much from myself in that match.
“But here I was okay, feeling physically fine. Maybe not the freshest, obviously, like at the beginning of the tournament, but I was physically all right. He was much better player on the court and was the dominant force. You just have to hand it to him and say, Congrats, well done.”
Djokovic came through a five set marathon against Felix Auger-Aliassime in the quarter-finals, and he was asked if he felt like he had anything left in the tank against Sinner.
“I mean, I’m proud of what I achieved three nights ago,” responded Djokovic. “Felix is number, what, three, fourth player in the world. Proven to myself and others that I can still play at the highest level, and I have. I reached the last four of Wimbledon.
“Losing in straight sets against the best player in the world, okay. It is what it is. It’s the reality you have to accept. But the tournament was positive in terms of the attitude on the court, the fighting spirit, the dedication. I mean, it’s still there.
“Game-wise I wasn’t extremely happy. Like in Australia, I felt like I played on a higher level overall throughout the tournament than here. Here, yeah, kind of struggled to find that A game. It was kind of appearing in some moments in matches that I had prior to semis.
“Today I was just unable. I didn’t have time. I didn’t have time to really regroup and reset. He was just at cruising speed and I couldn’t catch him.”

Eugenie Bouchard reacts to Novak Djokovic’s post-match comments
Former Wimbledon finalist Eugenie Bouchard gave her live reaction to Djokovic’s post-match comments for the BBC, and she claimed that they were overall positive from the 24-time Grand Slam winner.
“That was a pretty positive response,” said Bouchard. “He was not dismissing it at all. He went straight to press after the match, which some of the players like to do, and just want to get it over with when they are a bit upset with the result.
“But he said it, there was a difference in level today, there was just a little bit of difference in power from the baseline and Djokovic could not play the way he wants to play. It was tough out there for him.”
Djokovic will now look ahead to the US Open hard court swing, which is his last chance to win a 25th major title this year.
Last year, Djokovic did not play any hard court tournaments in North America prior to the US Open, so it is unclear as to what his plans are before the New York major this year.
