Novak Djokovic has named the one court in the world that still inspires him to continue playing tennis.

Djokovic continues to break records at the Shanghai Masters, where he is looking for yet another ATP 1000 tournament win.

The Serbian has won 40 Masters titles, but he has lost his last two finals at the 2024 Shanghai Masters and the 2025 Miami Open, with his last win coming at the 2023 Paris Masters.

Ahead of his Shanghai Masters semi-final, the tennis legend has named his favourite court on the entire ATP Tour.

Novak Djokovic is still astonished by Wimbledon

Asked what venues still astonish him on the tour, Djokovic replied: “That would be Wimbledon Centre Court. Just walking out on the Wimbledon Centre Court is unlike any court out there.”

“I’m not the only one,” continued the 24-time Grand Slam champion. “I know there is probably the majority of the tennis players dreaming of playing in Wimbledon, winning in Wimbledon.”

“So I’ve been blessed to win quite a few times in that tournament,” said the star who has lifted the iconic trophy on seven occasions.

“And every single time I walk out from the locker room, and on the way to the Centre Court, going through that members’ area, and just seeing the history lane with all the pictures and all the trophies, and how gracious and sophisticated everybody is in Wimbledon, it’s just a different feeling. I think that really gives me goose bumps.”

The star has made no secret of his affection for the grass court tournament, stating that it was his childhood dream to win the Grand Slam.

Novak Djokovic also praises the Shanghai Masters court

Djokovic also has an affinity with the Chinese fans and he has continued to impress them at the Shanghai Masters, a tournament he’s won four times.

The 28-year-old said he was surprised by the reaction he has received from the Chinese fans at this year’s event.

“Walking out here in China, the center court, for me, every single match really gives me incredible emotions and sensations because of so much support that I’ve been getting,” he said.

“So I did not expect that, that much,” he added. “I know that people appreciate and respect the achievements I had in the last 20-plus years, but it’s been better and better every single year.

“I’ve been trying to return the love with some good tennis, and hopefully they have been enjoying it.”

Djokovic plays Valentin Vacherot in the semi-finals of the Shanghai Masters on October 11, with the order of play yet to be confirmed.
