Novak Djokovic had some kind words to say about Emma Raducanu after she reached the Queen’s final.

Raducanu beat the likes of Iva Jovic and Sorana Cirstea to reach the Queen’s final, which was the biggest of her career since winning the 2021 US Open title.

The Briton produced a valiant display in the championship match, but Donna Vekic beat Raducanu to claim the Queen’s title.

It has still been a positive week for the 23-year-old, and Djokovic revealed his wish for Raducanu when asked about her run at Formula One’s Barcelona Grand Prix.

Novak Djokovic claims Emma Raducanu’s quality of tennis is ‘unquestionable’

Djokovic has not played a match since he lost in the third round of Roland Garros to Joao Fonseca, and he was first asked about how he was feeling ahead of Wimbledon this year.

“Yeah it’s good, I’m looking forward to it,” Djokovic told Sky Sports. “I’m looking forward to the grass, not as much running required as on clay.”

Djokovic was then asked about Raducanu’s run to the Queen’s final, as he praised her level of tennis and wished for her to stay injury free.

“I wish her the best of luck,” Djokovic said about Raducanu. She’s a great person, she’s a great girl, I really hope that she can stay injury free, because the quality of tennis is unquestionable always.

“She’s a Grand Slam champion, she has that inside, she has the English, British supporters behind her for Wimbledon, so hopefully she can have a great one.”

Both Djokovic and Raducanu will be looking to repeat their previous Grand Slam glory when Wimbledon gets underway later this month.

What Emma Raducanu said about Novak Djokovic when asked who is the GOAT

Raducanu has also heaped praise on Djokovic before, and in 2024 she named the 24-time Grand Slam champion when asked who she thought the greatest of all time (GOAT) was, despite admitting Roger Federer was her favourite to watch.

“In my opinion, the tennis GOAT is Novak Djokovic for pure, just repeatable quality,” Raducanu told Sky Sports at the time. “But I think my favourite to watch is Roger Federer.

“He (Federer) resembles grace, class, elegance, timelessness — all of the above.”

Raducanu appears to have since changed her mind on this, as she was asked to name her tennis GOAT again at Roland Garros this year.

This time, Raducanu called Federer the GOAT straight away when speaking to TNT Sports.

Raducanu and Federer now have a link, as they are both sponsored by clothing brand Uniqlo.
