The Japanese player was a 7-5 6-2 winner over the third seed and will meet Czech Lucie Hradecka in the last four after she defeated Kristina Barrois 6-3 7-6 (7/2).

The other semi-final will be between France’s Aravane Rezai and qualifier Viktoriya Kutuzova.

Rezai recovered from a woeful first set to beat qualifier Monica Niculescu 0-6 6-1 6-2, while Kutuzova defeated Stephanie Cohen-Aloro 7-5 6-1.
